![]() ![]() If you had a rackmount, you could just run Midi cables throughout your external effect devices and/or synths drum machines and control them all on the maschine. The controller editor is extremely easy to use and provides anything you need to create midi controls for channels 1-16. ![]() Its extremely versatile because you can use the Maschine software on the controller AND use it as an external midi controller (the two functions are controlled seperately and switchable in real-time). Maschine MK2 is hands down one of the best midi devices. I learned some new things by trying to help you out! The GUI really limits how much I use Kontakt. it would be REALLY nice to just browse the Kontakt library w/ a controler instead of a mouse. I just hope to God someone is selling it. I'm probably going to grab Kore and try to find a second hand copy of the software next week. That thread should lead you to all the info you'd need to get K9 mostly working with your Kore controller. Kore 2 Funcionality for Komplete 9 | NI Support Forum The userbase has actually come through and did a ton of work to get most of K9U working within the last Kore 2 update. This thread actually inspired me to check out Kore to see how it fairs with K9U. I don't use Maschine for browsing patches either, could be just me, but a little clunky… What I DID NOT know though was that Kore was 64 bit! I have that thing in my closet, and when it was discontinued I kinda rolled off of it, figuring any dependency would be lost with future updates, so figured, well, let's not get too used to it… perhaps it's time to dust off…You make a good point. just depends if you'd really use it for your style haha, which I have no clue. It's definitely a very very useful production solution. I really like having the non-linear approach in addition to my linear DAW (Studio One). I use K9 as a regular VST not run through Maschine VST, in which I don't even touch the Maschine controller. I personally use the Maschine VST sequencer for any Maschine related tasks I want to do. Check if it's possible though, either in the manual or on the Maschine Forums. I do believe you can trigger FM8 (loaded via Maschine VST) from a Cubase midi track, but I think Native Instruments made this a little more difficult to do. The sequencing part may be a little tricky. You'd load Maschine VST up inside Cubase, then within Maschine you'd open FM8. Is that what your saying? You have to use it through Maschine to do that, at least to my knowledge. Right I see, so if I open say FM8 as a VI in Cubase 7 then I can't use Maschine to scroll through the patches. ![]()
